When it comes to hiring a photographer you don't just want to go with anyone. Each photographer will specialize in a niche and favor a certain style when they shoot. If you want something more traditional you wouldn't want a photographer that prefers to shoot documentary-style shoots.
Whether it's a quick mini-session or a family portrait for your holiday cards most parents feel a little bit of dread when it comes to getting their kids to pose perfectly during a photoshoot. Kids are curious, energized, and often more interested in doing what they want whenever they want.
In October I was part of a 22-person team from Evergreen Christian Center (Hillsboro, OR) that traveled to Ensenada, Mexico to work with Homes of Hope. This grassroots program started in 1990 and has since built homes, with help from people all over the world, in over 23 nations. Location and teams work with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) which has established multiple programs that outreach and support poverty-stricken communities.
I had the honor of participating in The PNW Workshop first class last September. The fun part of the “workshop” was that the husband had no idea that his wife was surprising him with a vow renewal!
This year’s annual styled session is taking minimalism to heart. I loved looking at the 2019 trends for the holiday and incorporating this into what is going to be a beautiful session! Contact me to book your limited session time!
Cal celebrated his first birthday with a fun photo session and themed party to the beloved childhood book, Where the Wild Things Are. This little guy had a blast exploring and living out the adventures of a one year old and at the end he ate a delicious cake!
Terin and Parker’s wedding had a beautiful location and backdrop in Cornelius, Oregon. Wedding Portraits were taken before the wedding and the images of their love were captured perfectly. Terin and Parker had handcrafted local brews and ciders. Terin’s cider had beautiful glitter added as a surprise to the bride. The groom and his brothers created a beautiful wooden bar and their last initial was proudly displayed by a beauitful refurbished wine barrel. The couple had amazing food, an awesome DJ and danced with all the guests throughout the night. For their exit the couple had family and friends light sparklers!
When my amazing families contact me about a family session and telling me their dream session is a mixture between portraits and authentic moments, I know exactly what they are going for. FYI - I do always give my family instructions and prompts to capture authentic moments, smiles, laughter and love but having a few ideas in mind before getting in front of the camera is always helpful! Keep these tidbits in mind when we are working together.
